Updated 2025 Honda Civic Si Doesn’t Want to Fall Into Oblivion
The sporty Honda Civic Si has largely been overshadowed by the sensational, high-performance Civic Type R over the past couple of years. The addition of a Civic Hybrid that’s just as powerful and a lot more fuel-efficient for 2025 won’t do it any good, either.
Naturally, the recent update to the rest of the Civic Sedan lineup also applies to the Civic Si. It starts with a refreshed front fascia including a new hex-pattern grille, then continues with revised taillights for a darker appearance, plus redesigned V-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels finished in matte black.

Body colour selection expands with Urban Gray Pearl, which has proven popular on other Honda models such as the Accord and CR-V.
Inside, the 2025 Civic Si joins the Sport Touring Hybrid model with the first integration of Google built-in (Google Assistant, Google Maps and more via Google Play) in Honda’s compact car. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility is still available. Additional USB-C ports can be found in the first row.
In the safety department, Honda has revised the Collision Mitigation Braking System for improved detection of motorcycles and bicycles. Meanwhile, the adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist systems benefit from enhancements allowing smoother operation.
The changes for 2025 go beyond styling and technology, mind you. Engineers have also increased torsional and bending rigidity with new lower B-pillar and rear door sill supports. Suspension damper tuning has been tuned accordingly.
The Civic Si’s rev-matching system now includes downshifts from second to first gear. The turbocharged 1.5-litre engine stays put at 200 horsepower (same as Civic Hybrid) and 192 lb-ft of torque (40 lb-ft short), but as always, it teams up with a fantastic six-speed manual gearbox and helical limited-slip differential.
The 2025 Honda Civic Si goes on sale in early August starting at an all-inclusive price of $37,816 $, just $170 more expensive than the outgoing 2024 model. It slots right between the Sport Hybrid ($35,248) and Sport Touring Hybrid ($38,748).
As a reminder, two of its closest rivals, the Volkswagen Jetta GLI and Subaru WRX, also have something new in store for 2025. We’ve covered both in previous stories, so click on the links to learn more.
