Scores of Jeeps, Fiats and Alfa Romeos Recalled to Fix Airbag Issue
Stellantis has just announced a recall on more than 340,000 vehicles in North America, including 8,387 in Canada, due to a problem with the driver’s front airbag.
In some cases, the connector for the driver's seat belt buckle sensor could fail and cause the airbag to deploy with too much force, increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

The automaker says this problem would cause the airbag warning light to display on the instrument panel or the seat belt reminder chime and warning light to stay on, even if the seat belt is buckled.
Affected models include the 2019-2023 Jeep Renegade (by far the one with the most units being recalled), the all-new 2024 Fiat 500e electric hatchback and the 2019-2023 Fiat 500X, as well as the 2017-2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia and 2018-2025 Alfa Romeo Stelvio.
Stellantis, through FCA Canada, will notify owners by mail in the coming weeks and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership to replace the connector for the driver's seat belt buckle sensor.
