Polestar Concept BST is the Sexiest Thing You’ll See Today

Once again, Polestar is using the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K. to give us a taste of its future products. More specifically, the Swedish brand today hosted the world premiere of the Concept BST, a performance sports coupe joining the equally sensational Polestar 6 roadster concept.

The latter will make its dynamic debut driving up the 1.9km long hillclimb in front of the festival’s crowds.

“The Goodwood Festival of Speed is full of the most exciting cars and the most enthusiastic crowds, so it’s the perfect place for us to tease our Polestar Concept BST,” Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath said. “This car is a demonstration of how far we can push our performance brand—Polestar turned up to 11 if you will—and a demonstration of how we could apply the BST formula to our line up in the future.”

By the way, BST doesn’t stand for anything. It’s merely a contraction of “beast.” We saw it for the first time on the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270, which had a limited production run of 270 units for Europe and North America.

Sexy in a most Scandinavian way, the custom body is finished in a classic motorsport silver and its muscular flared arches house 22-inch forged alloy wheels. The tracks are extra-wide and the aerodynamically optimized hood features a unique vented design. Below is an aggressive carbon fibre front splitter in a contrasting finish.

The motorsport theme continues on the sides with custom racing-livery inspired graphics and in the rear with a massive wing. As you can see, the side mirrors and rear windows are all replaced with cameras.

Unfortunately, and curiously, Polestar failed to provide technical details and specs. However, we know that the Concept BST is closely related to the Polestar 6, which packs 872 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque for 0-100 km/h sprints in 3.2 seconds. An 800V architecture promises ultra-fast charging.

Seen the New Polestar 4 Yet?

Closer to home, the all-new 2025 Polestar 4 crossover with a windowless rear end made its Canadian debut in Laval, Quebec last month. This model slots between the Polestar 2 sedan and Polestar 3 SUV in terms of size and price.

The lineup starts with the single-motor RWD variant at $64,900 (plus $2,700 destination), which is a bit too expensive to qualify for the $5,000 rebate from the Canadian government’s iZEV program. In Quebec, an incentive of up to $7,000 applies. The dual-motor, AWD-equipped Polestar 4 starts at $74,900.

All models rely on a massive 102kWh battery with a maximum DC fast charging rate of 200 kW. With a single motor, the 272 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque enable 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.9 seconds. Range is estimated at 483 km. The addition of a second motor boosts output to 544 horsepower along with 506 lb-ft of torque, resulting in 0-100 km/h sprints in just 3.7 seconds—the quickest of any production Polestar to date. However, range drops to about 435 km.
