2025 Kia EV6 Shows Refreshed Look, Gets Larger Battery

Kia has unveiled a refreshed and improved EV6 in its domestic market of South Korea, where customers can already order one. The vehicle is expected to launch in North America by the end of the year as a 2025 model.

Similar to the Hyundai IONIQ 5, the EV6 is getting a larger battery pack with a capacity of 84 kWh instead of 77.4 kWh. Range will inevitably increase, but we need to wait a little more for the exact ratings. Right now, the RWD and AWD variants of the electric crossover achieve 499 km and 454 km with a full charge, respectively. The high-performance EV6 GT can do no better than 351 km.

The EV6 GT is almost as powerful (576 horsepower) but not as sporty and track-ready as the new 2025 IONIQ 5 N. This particular model’s refresh will be announced at a later date.

Incidentally, motor output and DC fast charging capability are unchanged. Using a DC charger that can supply up to 350 kW, the battery can go from 10-80 percent in 18 minutes.

When it comes to styling, the most obvious tweak can be found up front in the form of redesigned headlights and daytime running lights with Kia’s new Star Map lightning signature, bringing the EV6 closer to other recent products as well as upcoming ones like the subcompact EV3 (to be revealed on May 23). Same thing about the wheels. Oh, and the lower bumpers are slightly redesigned, too.

Inside, the wide digital interface combining two 12.3-inch displays now has a more rectangular shape and features the latest version of Kia’s CCNC infotainment system with sharper graphics and simpler navigation. There’s a new steering wheel in front of the driver with an offset Kia logo on it.

One last thing: the updated 2025 Kia EV6 benefits from extra content and technology, but it’s probably best if we wait for further information specific to the Canadian market before we tell you more. Watch this space.
