Exclusive Jeep Slashes Grand Cherokee 4xe Price in Canada, PHEV Incentives Now Available

The Jeep brand is going through a rough stretch from a sales standpoint, and particularly the Grand Cherokee. Customers can now get generous rebates from the manufacturer, including on 2024 models, but the big news this week is that Stellantis Canada has dramatically cut the price of the Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid.

The base MSRP for the 2024 model has indeed dropped from $77,185 to $59,995. In the process, Jeep has slightly revised standard equipment and packaging. Instead of Trailhawk, Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve models, you’ll now find two highly expensive packages that you can add to the stock Grand Cherokee 4xe.

These include an Altitude package at $15,600 and an Anniversary Edition package at $18,400, as specified on Jeep Canada’s online configurator.

Although the new price is a huge deal for customers, no official announcement has been made yet. The 2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe isn’t just cheaper now—it also becomes eligible to incentives for plug-in hybrid vehicles including $2,500 from the federal government’s iZEV program as well as provincial rebates of up to $5,000 where applicable.

The Car Guide reached out to Stellantis Canada for more details and got this statement from Bill Peffer, senior vice president and head of the Jeep brand in North America:

"We know consumers are grappling with the rising costs of inflation and looking for more affordable paths to purchase electrified vehicles. In response, the Jeep brand in Canada has taken the opportunity to roll back the starting price of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cheroke 4xe plug-in hybrid. The new, lower price of $62,290 (MSRP of $59,995 plus additional fees) not only makes the most technically-advanced and 4x4-capable Grand Cherokee yet more affordable, it also allows qualified customers to take full advantage of available provincial and federal electrified vehicle purchase incentives."

It’ll be interesting to see how much of an impact the new pricing strategy has on sales, but one thing’s for sure: the 2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe is now in a much better position to compete with arguably its most direct competitor, the Mazda CX-70/CX-90 with plug-in hybrid technology.
