Limited-Edition, Diamond-Studded Mercedes-Benz G-Class is Canada-Bound

As a way to celebrate Valentine's Day, Mercedes-Benz today launched a global campaign with a STRONGER THAN DIAMONDS EDITION of the G-Class.

The company calls the vehicle a “very special token of love”, one that lasts forever—if you can afford it and get a hold of it, of course. There will be just 300 units available globally, and Canada will receive a tiny yet unspecified number starting this month.

Based on the Mercedes-Benz G 550, which features a 416-horsepower V8 engine, the STRONGER THAN DIAMONDS EDITION is finished in an exclusive rosewood grey magno body colour developed by the automaker’s MANUFAKTUR department. A 0.25-carat diamond is set into all four stainless steel door locking pins, while the exterior door handles feature an embossed diamond logo.

Even the vehicle key has a unique design with a genuine silver badge on the reverse bearing the name of the special edition and the diamond insignia.

Inside, a MANUFAKTUR all-leather package in black nappa leather with contrasting stitching in rose is the main highlight. Passengers rest their feet on unique deep-pile floor mats. What’s more, the grab handle on the passenger side and the illuminated entry sills in stainless steel sport a finely crafted STRONGER THAN DIAMONDS badge.

Critically for the environmentally conscious, customers will receive a certificate from the Responsible Jewellery Council assuring that the diamonds originate from ethically, socially and ecologically responsible sources.

Canadian pricing for the Mercedes-Benz G 550 STRONGER THAN DIAMONDS EDITION was not available yet at the time of writing. That being said, if you can’t put a price on love, maybe it’s the same for this vehicle.
