2025 Cadillac CT5-V, CT5-V Blackwing Get Refresh as Sales Keep Rising
Cadillac is on a roll, with Canadian sales increasing for the fourth consecutive year including a record 15,483 units in 2023. The CT5 compact sedan is remaining perfectly steady, mind you, having sold 1,038 units in each of the past two years. Seriously, what are the odds of that?
While definitely a rare sight on Canadian roads, Cadillac says the sportier CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing had their best performance ever in 2023, with the latter up 22 percent. For 2025, both models get styling revisions and new technology following the lead of the standard CT5.

On the outside, the redesigned front fascia incorporates a more prominent grille along with new headlights, making the car look wider and lower. The CT5-V Blackwing has an even more aggressive appearance now, especially when equipped with the updated Carbon Fiber Package with splitter.
There are three new body colours to choose from including Drift Metallic, Deep Space Metallic and Typhoon Metallic. The first one is exclusive to V-Series models. The walk up and walk away lighting choreography includes a lit Cadillac crest on the back of the driver display, welcoming you upon approach.
33 Inches of Digital Real Estate
Speaking of which, the biggest change to the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing is a new 33-inch LED touchscreen that is capable of a stunning 9K resolution and curves toward the driver in a single, continuous display spanning the driver’s viewing area. It’s exactly like the one in the Lyriq electric crossover and the recently updated 2024 XT4 small crossover.
The infotainment system incorporates a customizable user interface and is also the gateway to the car’s many technologies, including Google built-in. With Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play, you can access hands-free communication, live traffic updates, download your favorite apps including podcasts, news, music and more. A 5G Wi-Fi hotspot is available, too.
Don’t miss the enhanced in-vehicle Performance Data Recorder, which comes with a new Performance in-vehicle app featuring real-time display of power, torque and boost, live dyno graph-style trace of power and torque with interactive analysis, as well as an array of performance gauges like g-force, tire temperature and engine vitals.
Same Power
Unsurprisingly, the engines are unchanged. The 2025 CT5-V continues to rely on a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 that produces 360 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque through a 10-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the CT5-V Blackwing shows the Germans who’s the boss with a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 delivering 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, but the 10-speed autobox can be specified, too.
Power is sent to the rear wheels, and the CT5-V is the only one available with all-wheel drive. An electronic limited-slip differential and launch control are part of the mix, with the CT5-V Blackwing adding a line lock feature for even more explosive acceleration from a standstill or just to do some burnouts.
While the 2025 CT5 is set to enter production this spring at the Lansing Grand River assembly plant in Michigan, the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing will get their turn starting in the summer. Additional details and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
