Acura RDX is Getting a Little Brother Called ADX With a Cheaper Price
Many people have been waiting for it for a long time, including dealers: A small Acura SUV slotting below the best-selling RDX will finally join the lineup soon, giving competitors like the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40 a run for their money.
American Honda’s Senior VP of Sales, Mamadou Diallo, confirmed the news on Thursday during a media briefing about the automaker’s 2023 results and upcoming plans for 2024.

The model will be called ADX and revealed later this year. Acura is calling it a gateway product alongside the Integra liftback sedan. The latter starts at $41,560 including freight, PDI and other applicable fees.
That’s excellent news for shoppers that prefer SUVs to cars, because the RDX is no longer the affordable model it used to be. Pricing has increased dramatically in the past couple of years and now stands at $56,840.
Under the hood, expect to find a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine. In the Integra, this mill delivers 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. Will there be a more powerful Type S model? Your guess is probably as good as ours, honestly. Yes, the Integra offers one, but not the RDX, curiously.
What Else to Watch For in 2024?
Speaking of the RDX, Acura says the compact SUV will receive upgrades to enhance its appeal and functionality—evidently for the 2025 model year—without being more specific than that. As a reminder, the current generation dates back to 2019 and was updated for 2022.
Meanwhile, the MDX midsize SUV will get various enhancements including styling changes, the addition of Bang and Olufsen premium audio, a new technology interface featuring Google-built in, as well as a more advanced AcuraWatch suite of driver assistance features. We’re also happy to report that the unpleasant touchpad will be axed and a new touchscreen will debut, enabling easier navigation and leaving more usable space on the centre console in the process.
Don’t forget about the all-new ZDX electric crossover, which was developed with the help of General Motors just like the Honda Prologue. The first deliveries are slated for the spring, with a base price north of $80,000. Maximum range is estimated at 500 km.
