2024 Jeep Wrangler Costs More, But Offers More Selection

Introduced at the New York Auto Show in April of last year, the updated and slightly redesigned 2024 Jeep Wrangler is now on sale in Canada and we can tell you about pricing details.

Let’s start at the bottom of the range, where the 285-horsepower, V6-equipped Wrangler Sport now costs $47,415 (freight, PDI and A/C tax included) in two-door configuration. It’s an increase of $3,625 from 2023, which shouldn’t come as a surprise. The cheapest four-door variant retails from $52,415, but the hike isn’t as dramatic since Jeep has added a new base Sport trim below the Sport S for 2024.

At the other end of the lineup, the fearsome Wrangler Rubicon 392 and its 470-horsepower HEMI V8 can now be yours for a mind-blowing $120,415, representing a jump of $8,275. This is likely the V8's final year, by the way. As for the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid, which generates a combined 375 horsepower and enables 35 km of pure electric driving, there are six trim levels to choose from instead of three like last year (half are eligible to a $2,500 EV rebate from the Canadian government plus provincial incentives where applicable), and the least you can spend is $62,190.

As a quick recap, the 2024 Wrangler sports a new grille design that was first introduced on the 2023 Wrangler 20th Anniversary. The cosmetic changes extend to the wheels. On Rubicon models, an all-new Dana 44 HD full-float solid rear axle accommodates not only the stock 35-inch tires offered by Jeep, but also 40-inch aftermarket tires. What’s more, it increases maximum towing to 5,000 lbs. A factory-installed Warn winch with a capacity of 8,000 lbs is available.

Fans of manual transmissions, rejoice: the Wrangler’s six-speed unit continues to be offered with the V6 and turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Wrangler 4xe and Rubicon 392 models are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission exclusively.

Inside, the big news for 2024 is a 12.3-inch centre touchscreen powered by Uconnect 5, which is five times faster than the previous operating system. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, simultaneous connectivity for two Bluetooth-enabled phones, plus over-the-air updates. Oh, and side curtain airbags are finally included as standard.
