Refreshed 2024 Genesis G70 Packs New 300-hp Engine

Revised and improved two years ago, the Genesis G70 compact luxury sedan gets more enhancements for 2024. Without a doubt, the most significant one is found under the hood.

The turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine is replaced by a 2.5-litre unit shared with the G80 midsize sedan as well as the GV70 and GV80 crossovers. Output is increased to 300 horsepower (+48), tied with the base Infiniti Q50 and exceeding all German rivals equipped with their standard engines. Peak torque, meanwhile, is boosted to 311 lb-ft. (+51).

The alternative is the popular twin-turbocharged 3.3-litre V6, which delivers up to 368 horsepower and 376 lb-ft. of torque. In both cases, the G70 uses an eight-speed transmission and all-wheel drive. Performance-minded drivers are sure to appreciate the new standard Brembo brakes, too.

Refreshed Look, Extra Content and Connectivity

The 2024 Genesis G70 will continue to rank among the most stylish sedans in its class, especially with the new exterior colours Vatna Grey and Kawah Blue (pictured here) taking inspiration from the volcanic landscapes of Iceland and Indonesia. Up front, just above the grille, is a new Genesis emblem engraved with a Guilloché pattern reminiscent of luxury watches.

Inside, the range of colour selections has also been expanded, while functional design elements and details have been added to features like the multi-function switches, door and console garnish patterns, air vents and cup holders. The car offers USB-C charging and a digital key that can be shared electronically by the owner with other drivers.

Finally, safety is improved with the addition of a front centre airbag and rear side airbags as standard equipment.

The 2024 Genesis G70 goes on sale in Canada in January starting at $53,000 (all-inclusive price) in base trim and $58,000 with the 3.3-litre engine.
