2024 Chevrolet Corvette Will Cost You a Lot More

The Chevrolet Corvette is widely known for delivering more bang for your buck than most if not all other sports cars, but the 2024 model could cause some potential customers to think twice about it.

If we look at the base Corvette Stingray first, prices for the 1LT, 2LT and 3LT coupes have increased to $90,825, $100,630 and $107,710 including destination and other fees, plus the federal luxury tax where applicable. That’s a difference of around $12,000 from 2023. The cabriolet, which requires a $9,000 premium, now amounts to $99,825, $111,430 or $118,510.

By the way, there are two new body colours you can order including Carbon Flash Metallic and Sea Wolf Grey Tricoat, both costing $1,495.

If you don’t want the Stingray’s 6.2-litre V8 (495 hp, 470 lb-ft.) and would rather have the Corvette Z06’s naturally aspirated 5.5-litre V8 (670 hp, 460 lb-ft.), we’re sorry to tell you that it suffers from an even worse case of inflation. For 2024, the 1LZ, 2LZ and 3LZ coupes start at $159,310, $173,110 and $180,310, respectively, which represents hikes of about $23,000-$25,000 over the previous model year.

The much advertised visible carbon fibre wheels with red stripe (20 inches front, 21 inches rear) will now relieve you of more than $15,500. Seriously.

To be clear, Chevrolet has made no notable changes to the Stingray and Z06 models for 2024. As you know, the company is focusing entirely on the all-new Corvette E-Ray, the first-ever gas-electric Corvette that’s raising the bar for performance to unprecedented heights.

Pricing is already out, if you’re curious. The coupe retails from $150,310 (1LZ), $159,310 (2LZ) or $168,310 (3LZ), again including destination, dealer fees and the inevitable luxury tax. Where the convertible is concerned, prices are set at $161,110, $170,110 and $179,110, in that order. We spent some time building a fully loaded E-Ray and wound up topping $235,000. Yep, almost a quarter of a million dollars.

Is all that money justified? To find out, we were invited to Colorado in mid-September to test drive the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray on the road and the track. We’ll be able to share our full impressions of the car on October 13, so don’t miss our review.
