2024 Buick Envision Freshens Up, Adds Super Cruise

Hot on the heels of the updated Encore GX and all-new Envista, Buick is giving us our first look at the refreshed 2024 Envision, which sports the brand’s new global design language.

The entire front end is changed including the grille, headlights, daytime running lights and Buick logo on a refreshed hood, taking inspiration from last year’s Wildcat EV concept. It proves more visually aggressive and more modern, that’s for sure.

By the way, the model you see on the two pictures shared by Buick today is a top-of-the-line Envision Avenir, featuring a single-tone exterior with chrome accents.

The 2024MY update also brings a new interior layout highlighted by a redesigned dashboard and what the company calls its Virtual Cockpit System. The VCS features 19 diagonal inches of high-definition screens under one sheet of glass, comprising an 11-inch infotainment touchscreen and a configurable 8-inch instrument cluster, both angled toward the driver. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard.

The other big news is the addition of Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving technology. For the first time, Buick drivers will have the option to experience this hands-free system, which is compatible on more than 644,000 km of highways in Canada and the U.S.

There are no changes to the engine, mind you. Look for the same turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder producing 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque through a nine-speed automatic transmission. It remains to be seen whether AWD will become standard or not.

Buick says the current Envision has achieved its highest ever retail sales over the first half of 2023 and is on track to enjoy a record year. Additional details and more information on the new 2024 Buick Envision will be released later in the year.
