2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer Shows Updated Face, Larger Screen

The current-generation Chevrolet Trailblazer—which has nothing to do with its midsize predecessors, remember—was introduced three years ago and a mid-cycle refresh is in order for 2024.

Once again, the lineup is split into four trim levels: LS, LT, Activ and RS. All-wheel drive is available, which is not the case with the all-new 2024 Chevrolet Trax.

Designers have made slight revisions to the Trailblazer’s front fascia, grille, headlights and taillights. Also, each trim level gets new wheel designs, the top-line RS (pictured below) standing out with larger 19-inch alloys.

Two new body colours can be specified for 2024 including Copper Harbor and the same Cacti Green that we saw on the aforementioned Trax, not to mention the new Corvette E-Ray. A two-tone exterior continues to be available with the Trailblazer Activ and RS.

Arguably the most important change can be found inside. The size of the centre touchscreen is increased to 11 inches, while an eight-inch digital instrument cluster faces the driver. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both accessible, of course, and you don’t even need a USB cable for that.

Under the hood, it’s business as usual. Customers have a choice of two turbocharged triple-cylinder engines. The 137-horsepower, 1.2-litre unit is mated to a continuously variable transmission and comes with FWD only. The slightly bigger and more powerful 1.3-litre mill, which produces 155 horsepower, can be had with either the CVT-FWD combo or a nine-speed autobox and AWD.

Pricing for the 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer will be announced closer to launch in a few months. This is shaping up to be a big year for small SUVs as the Kia Seltos gets a refresh of its own for 2024, while the popular Hyundai Kona and Subaru Crosstrek arrive with new generations. The latter makes its North American debut on Thursday at the Chicago Auto Show, so don’t miss it.
