Porsche 911 Goes Camping, Now Available With Roof Tent
You can find custom-built Porsche 911 models that will take you off the beaten path, but there isn’t really one specifically designed for camping. Of course, it makes a lot more sense to buy a Cayenne if you’re into that sort of stuff.
Guess what? It’s now possible to combine your love for sports cars and the great outdoors with a new factory-backed option—a roof tent.

The tent is enclosed in a custom-made hardcase that can be mounted on the top of a Cayenne, Macan, Panamera or Taycan, but also any 911 Carrera model (GT, Cabriolet and Targa models can’t have it).
Unsurprisingly, there’s only room for two since the floor is just 210 cm by 130 cm with a maximum load capacity of 140 kg (on vehicles without roof rails). The tent comes with an integrated high-density mattress, as well as side windows and a roof window for ventilation.
A telescopic ladder supports the foot zone of the tent and provides access to the interior, with a convenient rain cover over the door.
Buyers can choose between the Black/Light Grey and Black/Dark Grey hardcase, each of which is adorned with a matte black Porsche logo. Some accessories will be available soon to go along with the tent including a heated blanket and a shoe and bag organizer. In Europe, the package costs 4,980 euros and will be delivered starting in November. Availability in Canada has yet to be announced.
Oh, and one last thing, which is kind of critical to know: top speed with the hardcase mounted on the 911 is limited at 130 km/h, so drivers must resist the urge to rush to the campsite.
