Kia EV9 to Enter Production in 2023
Thanks to a press release on Kia’s U.K. media site, we now have confirmation that the brand’s stunning EV9 three-row electric SUV will enter production and go on sale in Europe in 2023.
Nothing has been announced for the North American market yet, but it’s clear that this model will be coming here, as well.

Remember, the Kia EV9 made its debut as a concept at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show last November. Roughly the same size as the Telluride, it featured much more futuristic styling inside and out along with more generous and user-friendly space.
Unfortunately, Kia did not provide any other details about the production model. We know, however, that it will share its architecture and several components with the upcoming IONIQ 7 (based on the SEVEN concept) that sister company Hyundai is developing at the same time. Said architecture will be a stretched version of the e-GMP platform that currently underpins the Kia EV6, Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Genesis GV60.
Maximum range should exceed 400 kilometres and fast charging on 350KW chargers will be possible.
The Kia EV9 will likely arrive in Canada as a 2024 model. As for pricing, we predict it will cost substantially more than the EV6, which starts at $44,995. Something around $60,000 seems realistic.
