Bentley Employees Build Bus For Charity
It’s no secret that the recession has put a serious hurt on the most luxurious automotive brands’ headquarters. With everyone earning less, the world’s ultra-wealthy are finding it harder and harder to justify spending the necessary quarter million to purchase that Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Bentley.
So, what have those brand’s employees done with their newfound free time? Well, we can’t speak for the Italians, but Bentley’s been using the time to engender some seriously good karma. Having previously used their expert woodworking skills to produce luxury furniture for charity, they’ve now turned their attention to another famous motorized transport from England: the double decker bus.
Of course, they haven’t just toiled about to benefit some tourist company. On the contrary, the bus, know known as “Luke,” was donated to St. Luke’s Hospice for the terminally ill. Used as a general community charity bus, it will raise awareness for St. Luke’s and take part in fundraising events. Billed as the world’s most luxurious charity bus, it will appear on campuses and events around England.
