Next-Gen 2023 Genesis G90 Looks Stunning in First Official Pics
Significantly refreshed two years ago, the Genesis G90 full-size luxury sedan is now introducing its second generation. Revealed for the first time today in Seoul, it will go on sale in Canada next year as a 2023 model.
According to Korean brand, it’s the most elegant interpretation of the “Athletic Elegance” design language yet. And we can’t say we disagree.
The exterior is naturally inspired by the freshly redesigned G70 and G80. Similar to the former, the front grille has more of a diamond shape than in the past. Additionally, it features a layered architecture finish, which is comprised of two G-Matrix patterns layered on top of one another to create a three-dimensional effect.
The headlights boast the thinnest two-line design ever created by Genesis. This was achieved by intercrossing the lens of the daytime running lights with low beam powered by MLA technology. Above them, the new clamshell hood combines the hood and upper fenders in order to eliminate panel gaps and create a sleek impression.
The side view shows unique and stunning alloy wheels, while the rear end looks much more modern and sportier now. Genesis’ lettering emblem in the middle of the trunk lid is still there, but the wide-arch design that connects the rear fenders is a welcome change. The redesigned two-line taillights look sleeker, as well.
Unfortunately, there are no pictures of the interior and no details about the powertrain. It’s been reported, but not yet confirmed, that the 5.0-litre V8 will be axed and replaced by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 shared with the G80 and GV80.
Genesis says more information on North American market specifications and deliveries will be available at a later date, so keep following The Car Guide or subscribe to our newsletter.
