55-Year-Old Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Adds Heritage Edition
Carroll Shelby once said about the original 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500: “It’s the first real car I’m really proud of.” As the model turns 55, the Blue Oval company had the brilliant idea to create a limited run of 2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition fastbacks as a tribute.
The cars will be finished in a classic and exclusive Brittany Blue exterior paint with two different Wimbledon White exterior stripe options—painted or vinyl. In both cases, a unique GT500 logo is included.

There are no changes to the 760-horsepower, supercharged 5.2-litre V8 engine, mind you, and no other upgrades to improve performance. This is merely a cosmetic package.
Incidentally, it’s not the only styling difference you can find on the 2022 Mustang Shelby GT500. Like the all-new F-150 Raptor, the upcoming Bronco Raptor and the GT supercar, the 2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 is now available in the exclusive Ford Performance paint colour Code Orange. It’s one of eight new colours offered with the Mustang lineup for 2022.
Dealer orders for the 2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 models, including the new Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition, open on November 15. Deliveries will begin in the spring. Canadian pricing has yet to be announced.
