2021 Shelby Super Snake Boosted to 825 Hp, Limited to 98 Units
The Shelby Super Snake is back for 2021, and it’s more aggressive and more sophisticated than ever.
Of course, the highlight is found under the hood. Powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine that unleashes 825 ponies (65 more than Ford’s Shelby GT500!), the latest Super Snake goes from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds.

A six-speed manual transmission or 10-speed automatic transmission can be specified. Naturally, the cooling and exhaust systems have been revised.
The company has also upgraded the suspension and brakes while fitting Shelby 20-inch one-piece forged aluminum wheels and high-performance tires. Customers have a few suspension options, mind you (including a Penske-designed system tailored for track use), along with a wide body kit that adds even more muscle to the car.
The Speedster Edition pictured here is brand new, too. It’s a roadster variant with two seats only and a hard top tonneau system, accompanied by unique stripes and badges. We can pretty much agree that it looks much sportier than the regular four-seat convertible designed by Ford.
Just 98 copies of the 2021 Shelby Super Snake and 98 more for the Speedster Edition will be sold as a tribute to what would have been founder Carroll Shelby’s 98th birthday. Each one will be branded with a unique CSM number that will be included in the Official Shelby Registry.
Pricing starts at $133,785 for a Super Snake coupe, but we have yet to find out how much the Speedster Edition will cost. The great thing on top of that is that the cars remain protected by the powertrain warranty offered by Ford.
