2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Pricing Announced, Including Hybrid Model
After getting a major update that includes a new platform, refreshed styling, more technologies and new powertrains including two hybrid variants, the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe is now on sale in Canada and we finally know how much it costs.
The lineup consists of three trim levels: Essential, Preferred and Ultimate Calligraphy. The first one starts at $31,399 plus destination and handling. It makes do with front-wheel drive, so if you want all-wheel drive you’ll need to spend an extra $2,000.

Standard content includes a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine (191 hp, 181 lb-ft.), an eight-speed automatic transmission, LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel wrapped in leather, and an eight-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
On the safety front, you get Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go capability, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian, Cyclist and Junction-Turning Detection, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Rear Occupant Alert, and High Beam Assist.
Available exclusively with all-wheel drive, the Preferred trim level is priced from $36,399. Among the additional features, you’ll find chrome accents on the outside, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, BlueLink connectivity, and keyless entry with push-button start. Leather seating surfaces, panoramic sunroof and more are part of the Trend Package which requires a premium of $2,100.
Safety is boosted by Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Assist, and Parking Distance Warning in Reverse.
The top-line Ultimate Calligraphy model starts at $47,499. This one stands out with a turbocharged 2.5-litre engine (277 hp, 311 lb-ft.), 19-inch wheels, a power rear liftgate, Nappa leather seats (ventilated up front, heated in the rear), 10.25-inch centre display with navigation, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, 630-watt premium audio system, and wireless charging pad.
It’s also the only one to offer Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist in Reverse, a Blind View Monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Highway Driving Assist a.k.a. Hyundai’s version of semi-autonomous driving.
What about the first-ever Santa Fe Hybrid which goes on sale this month? Combining a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine with a 44-kilowatt electric motor and a 1.5-kWh battery, it delivers 226 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Two models can be ordered: Preferred Trend at $41,399 and Luxury at $43,799. Unfortunately, fuel consumption ratings for Canada were not available at the time of writing.
The plug-in hybrid variant of the Santa Fe, meanwhile, is slated to arrive in the second half of this year. Pricing will be announced at that time.
