2021 Buick Envision: All You Need to Know
Last spring, Buick unveiled the second-generation 2021 Envision but failed to provide much information.
With the model now arriving at Canadian dealerships, the company invited journalists to a virtual presentation revealing a lot more details.

Turbo Engine
Slotting between the Encore GX and Enclave, the 2021 Buick Envision is motivated by a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder that produces 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This punchy engine used to be optional but will now come standard on all trim levels.
A nine-speed automatic transmission handles shifting, while FWD and AWD configurations are still available. The former results in fuel consumption of 10.0 L/100 km in the city and 7.6 L/100 km on the highway. These numbers increase to 10.5 and 8.2, respectively, when choosing AWD.
Connectivity and Safety
Buick also announced that the new Envision is available with a 10.2-inch touchscreen powered by its own infotainment system or, alternatively, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. There are also in-vehicle apps such as available Alexa Built-in.
When it comes to safety, the company is not kidding around. The Buick Driver Confidence Plus package offers nine standard active safety features, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, IntelliBeam auto high beams, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Park Assist.
Additional available driver assistance technologies include HD Surround Vision, Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Head-up Display and more.
Envision Avenir
For the first time, Buick’s Avenir nameplate joins the Envision lineup. It’s pretty much the equivalent of Denali at GMC, as acknowledged by top GM officials.
The Envision Avenir stands out with an exclusive mesh grille design, tinted chrome trim and unique 20-inch wheels with a Pearl Nickel finish. It also comes standard with heated and ventilated front seats, diamond-quilted and perforated leather seats, a driver’s seat massage feature, heated rear outboard seats, navigation and wireless smartphone charging.
Furthermore, Buick offers a Sport Touring package that embodies a more agile appearance with darkened exterior touches and 20-inch wheels with a darkened finish.
In Canada, the 2021 Buick Envision starts at $37,598.
