Tesla Model 3 Customer Accidentally Orders 27 of Them
The Tesla Model 3 is an excellent vehicle. We at The Car Guide even named it our Best Buy for 2020 in the EV segment. It’s easy to understand why many people would want one.
But ordering 27 of them? That’s not normal. And yet that’s what a customer in Germany did… accidentally.

The man and his father wanted to replace the family’s old Ford Kuga with a more modern automobile. Since the German government recently doubled the credit for the purchase of an electric vehicle, they went to Tesla’s website to reserve a copy of the Model 3 sedan.
After filling in their payment information and clicking to submit their order, they received a notification and were led to believe the transaction had fallen through. In reality, there was a problem with the website. But instead of waiting for it to be fixed, the father-son duo tried a second time, then a third, a fourth and so on until a 27th attempt that proved successful.
As it turned out, Tesla did receive all 27 orders and the tally amounted to 1.4 million euros—or just over $2.1 million at the current exchange rate.
Fortunately, the two men contacted Tesla’s customer support and managed to get all those accidental orders cancelled. Talk about a relief!
Let that serve as a lesson for anyone trying to buy cars or other products online: if there’s a bug, contact the company first.
