Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition Sold Out in 4 Minutes
Believe it or not, it only took four minutes for the new 2021 Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition to sell out.
When reservations began on the Honda Canada website on May 21 at 1pm, 100 units were ripe for the taking. At 1:04pm, all of them had already been scooped up with a $1,000 deposit apiece.

Compared to the regular Civic Type R, the Limited Edition stands out with an exclusive Phoenix Yellow exterior; a contrasting roof, hood vent and mirror caps; lightweight, forged aluminum BBS wheels; and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 performance tires.
The car is lighter overall, too, mostly because of reduced sound deadening materials and the removal of features such as the tonneau cover, rear heater ducts and rear wiper.
While there are no changes to the 306-horsepower turbo engine or six-speed manual gearbox, those lucky 100 owners will surely appreciate the specially tuned dampers and recalibrated steering, the latter offering maximum control and feedback, according to Honda.
When it comes to safety, the full suite of Honda Sensing features comes standard on the Civic Type R Limited Edition. This includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert with collision mitigation braking, lane keeping assist and more.
The price has still not been announced, mind you. For the record, the 2020 Honda Civic Type R starts at $45,460.
