These Vietnamese Fans Build Supercars Out of Cardboard

Supercars fascinate a lot of people, but very few can afford one. While half the planet is currently ordered to stay home to help fight the spread of the coronavirus, some are using the time to build their own exotic cars at a tiny fraction of the cost.

The catch? These machines are made of cardboard bodies.

With a bit of imagination and technical know-how, a team of Vietnamese enthusiasts from the YouTube channel NHẾT TV shows us how it’s possible to create fairly realistic replicas that are amusing to drive in a completely different way. Some are powered by a small 250cc engine, while others rely on bike pedals to move around.

Among their super-lightweight and recyclable creations are a Lamborghini Sián and Aventador, a Ferrari FXX K and a Bugatti Chiron. There are also a number of sportbike replicas including a BMW S1000RR, Kawasaki ZX-10R and Ducati Panigale V4. The choice of wheels and tires is often questionable, however.

In the most rudimentary cases, the cost of the operation is as cheap as $100. Would you dare to take one of these homemade supercars for a spin?
