Papa Johns Giving Camaro Owners Free Pizza Tomorrow!
Yes, you read that right. In a story that will warm the cockles of every red-blooded car fanatic out there, John Schnatter; the Papa John in Papa John’s Pizza, has chosen to share his happiness over being reunited with his own 1970 ½ Camaro Z28 with every Camaro owner out there.
Having sold the gold and black '70.5 Z28 in 1983 to bail out his father’s business and start the now multi-national pizza chain, Schnatter (or, Papa John) decided to celebrate his success by hunting down his old car in a search of massive proportions. Initially offering a $25,000 reward in an appeal on his website, Schnatter eventually upped the reward to a massive $250,000 in a TV campaign that happened to be viewed by the Sloanes of Indiana. Recognizing the car as one they had previously owned, the Sloanes got back in touch with the car’s buyer, one Jeff Robinson of Fleetwood, Kentucky (and the cars third owner). Although having heavily modified the car into a 825 horsepower dragster capable of consuming the ¼ mile in just 9.55 seconds, Robinson was all too happy to accept the quarter million dollar cheque in trade of for the Camaro’s pink slip, while Papa John rewarded the Sloanes with $25,000 for their assistance.
Now, Papa John has chosen to share the love tomorrow by offering every Camaro owner a free large pizza. Caveats: the free pizza must be picked up at store locations, and the recipient must arrive in their Camaro.
