2020 Porsche Taycan Interior Revealed Ahead of its Official Debut
The wait is almost over. Following a three-stop world tour in pre-production form, the all-new 2020 Porsche Taycan will make its grand debut early next month.
We have a pretty good idea of how the exterior will shape up, but what about the interior? Porsche today gave us our first official look at the cabin of its electric sports car.
The typically German layout incorporates a fairly modest touchscreen interface instead of a huge display like Tesla’s. Said screen will connect with Apple Music (free for up to six months) in what will be the first "fully integrated" automotive application of this streaming service. Drivers will be able to use voice commands to play songs or select radio stations.
Three years of complimentary Internet access will be part of every Taycan and a Burmester surround sound system will be optionally available for the ultimate listening experience.
Behind the steering wheel is a digital, driver-configurable instrument cluster that appears to be wider than in the Panamera and 911.
Sitting at the top of the dashboard, we find a Sport Chrono-style stopwatch that creates a visual connection between the electric Taycan and the brand’s conventionally powered models.
It is possible Porsche will release other images and technical details to whet our appetite until the big reveal, so stay tuned.
In related news, the Porsche Taycan has just completed 3,425 kilometres of endurance testing in 24 hours at the Nardò high-speed test track in Italy, maintaining speeds of 195-215 km/h between quick-charge sessions and driver changes. It didn’t experience any problems, the company reports.
