US Border Patrol to Purchase Ford Raptors?
Ford’s F-150 Raptor is undeniably awesome. Containing some of the most high-zoot suspension pieces to ever be found under a stock production pickup truck, the beast is capable of rocketing over desert terrain with the best of them, as evidenced by the Ford Racing team’s success at Baja with a stock-based, pre-production entry.
So, what better use for a near-competition ready desert racing truck than to be put to use patrolling the southern border of the United States? Already using Ford products, the US Border Protection agency uses massive F-350s and a fleet of helicopters to watch the Mexico/US border, the agency has expressed their interest in procuring at least ten of SVT’s latest truck offering in order to beef up protection and security of the much-talked about border. Already a tangled and complicated mess of concertina, corrugated fencing, and cement, the addition of a fleet of Raptors would allow agents to respond to potential threats with impossible speed, and the sight of one of these behemoths bounding through the Southern Californian or New Mexican dunes with all four tires in the air would definitely give any would be wrongdoer cause for pause.
