Canadian Premiere: 2018 Hyundai Kona is an SUV we were Waiting For
by Alain Morin
Present and accounted for in most segments, Hyundai did not yet have a representative in the extremely popular subcompact SUV category. The Kona changes all that. Smaller than the Tucson and built on a brand-new platform, the Kona’s contours are free-spirited and fun. It features a sound system with a seven-inch screen, USB ports and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, all standard. There’s the basic 147-horsepower, naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine or another four-cylinder—turbo this time—that delivers 175 horsepower. It has either front- or four-wheel drive, depending on which engine you choose.
