2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe: We’re Driving it This Week
After releasing the redesigned sedan and wagon versions of the midsize E-Class family, it’s now the coupe’s turn to get a little attention before the cabriolet is unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show.
Compared to the outgoing generation, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe is longer, wider and rolls on a wheelbase stretched by 4.4 inches or 112 millimetres. The German brand claims improved interior space and comfort for all four passengers.

The car’s styling is new, but keeps certain design elements such as the frameless side windows. The slightly higher roofline tones down the previous coupe’s wedge shape, while the rear section receives the company’s now-typical slim taillight clusters that can also be admired on the coupe versions of the C-Class, the S-Class and the Mercedes-AMG GT.
Only one version will be available in Canada when it hits showrooms, but more variants will likely be added later on. The E 400 4MATIC will be equipped with a twin-turbo, 3.0-litre V6 that develops 329 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque, matched to all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission. According to Mercedes, the car can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 5.3 seconds.
The Car Guide is heading to Barcelona, Spain in order to try out this new E-Class Coupe. Stay tuned for a full report next week.
