Health Canada Warns... Pontiac Grand Am Owners
A very curious warning found its way onto Health Canada's website. While it isn't a proper recall, it is something to keep in mind if you own a very particular vehicle.
If you are driving a Pontiac Grand Am built between 1996 and 1997, I would like to first and foremost congratulate you on keeping your car on the road for two solid decades; in only five years, it will be eligible to be registered as a classic!
However, Transport Canada wants to warn you that the airbag module might have been corroded over the years, which could prevent said airbags to deploy in a crash. Even worse, they could even deploy without warning. The government recommends inspecting the floors of your vehicle for signs of oxidation.

It is important for vehicle users to recognize that as vehicles age in our Canadian environment, corrosion takes place and can influence vehicle operation and safety.
So, basically, old cars in Canada can rust. Who knew?
