A Diesel-Powered Chevrolet Cruze RS
We know that Chevrolet wants to get into the diesel market, which is relatively quiet now that Volkswagen has stopped selling TDI engines. The American manufacturer not only has announced a turbo-diesel four-cylinder mill in the upcoming 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, but we know that the Cruze Diesel would be back.
Now, here is news that should be interesting not only to fuel efficiency fans, but also to sporty car enthusiasts: according to GM North America president Alan Batey, the Cruze equipped with a turbo-diesel engine will also be available with the RS appearance package.

This means that in the coming year, we could see something pretty interesting in Chevrolet’s dealerships: a manual transmission, diesel-powered hatchback with plenty of torque—around 230 pound-feet, if the engine is similar to the one found in the Equinox—and good looks.
The turbo-diesel engine will be offered as an option in the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze sedan, and in the 2018 edition of the new Cruze hatchback.
