The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV to start at $42,795 in Canada
It seems as though GM has a lot to say lately about its new fully electric vehicle, the 2017 Bolt. After announcing the car’s driving range last week, they have just revealed its Canadian retail price, an important factor that was unknown up until now was the subject of a lot of speculation.
The wait is over. The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV will be offered at a starting price of $42,795, which is lower than the initially estimated $45K sticker. Freight and delivery charges of $1,600 must be added to the tab, which brings the base price to $44,395, ringing in nicely under the projected price point.
In certain Canadian provinces, government purchase and financing incentives can sweeten the deal. Bolt EV buyers can benefit from a pre-tax rebate of $12,839 in Ontario, $8,000 in Quebec and $5,000 in British Columbia.
As mentioned last week, the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV will offer a driving range of 383 kilometres, again, exceeding the company’s initial projections. According to Alan Batey, GM held its promise in terms of both price and range. It becomes the first long-range, but affordable, fully electric car on our market.
This new model will be on sale in the beginning of 2017. The base-trim Chevrolet Bolt LT will offer a rearview camera, wheel-mounted paddles to control the Regen on Demand function and a 10.2-inch touchscreen as standard equipment. The Premier trim will notably add leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats as well as a 360-degree camera system. In Canada, all versions of the Bolt will include a DC quick charger outlet and a tire inflation kit.
