Land Rover Disco Sport gets stylish design package for 2017
Land Rover is adding a stylish new design package to the 2017 Discovery Sport, as well as a larger infotainment screen running the automaker's InControl Touch Pro system.
Available on HSE and HSE Luxury models, the Dynamic Design Pack includes new front and rear bumpers, including integrated tailpipes around back, black trim and gloss black 20-inch wheels outside, and contrast stitched leather seats and gearshift knob, unique floor mats, and metal pedals and dash accents inside.
"Our customers want their vehicles to stand out and expect a wide range of personalization options," Jaguar Land Rover chief design officer Gerry McGovern said in a statement. "The latest additions to the Discovery Sport deliver this in a premium way."
The Disco Sport will also be available in four new colours: Silicon Silver; Farallon Black; Carpathian Grey; and Aruba metallic.
Also new for the 2017 model year is the Land Rover InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, which runs through a 10.2-inch touchscreen atop the centre stack.
The system does without buttons, according to the automaker, "replicating the look and feel of smartphone apps and allowing users to swipe and pinch, just as they would on a tablet."
A trio of new driver assistance features have also been added to the crossover for 2017, including a driver fatigue monitoring system, a so-called "Intelligent Speed Limiter" that notifies drivers when the speed limit has changed and can automatically slow the vehicle down, and lane keep assist.
The 2017 Discovery Sport is set to go on sale late this summer.
