2016 Chevrolet Cruze gets 5.6 L/100 km on the highway
The all-new 2016 Chevrolet Cruze has received a U.S. EPA-estimated highway mileage of 42 mpg—equivalent to 5.6 L/100 km.
Set to go on sale this spring, the 2016 Cruze sedan is powered by an all-new turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder that makes 153 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque.
That engine, which replaces a naturally-aspirated 1.8-litre unit, powers a car that is nearly 250 lbs. lighter than its predecessor.
The reduced weight also helps around town, with the EPA estimating city mileage at 30 mpg, or 7.8 L/100 km.
The first of three version of the second-generation Chevrolet Cruze to hit the market, the sedan starts at $15,995 in Canada.
An all-new Cruze hatchback model is set to go on sale in the fall, while Chevrolet promises a return of the Cruze diesel in early 2017.
