Honda officially unveils redesigned 2016 Civic coupe
Hot on the heels of the redesigned Civic sedan that's set to go on sale shortly, Honda has unveiled the accompanying coupe variant of the 10th generation compact.
The 2016 Civic coupe shares the same sporty look of the sedan, including a fastback profile that is a big departure from its predecessor's look.
The new coupe's wheelbase is 80 millimetres longer than the 2015 Civic coupe, while the body is 48 millimetres wider overall.
Where it differs from its four-door sibling is in overall length and height, with the new Civic coupe 140 millimetres shorter than the sedan, and its more steeply raked roofline making it 20 millimetres lower.
The coupe can be had with the same two new engine choices that are offered in the sedan, with a new 2.0-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine making 158 horsepower and 138 lb.-ft. of torque, and the Honda brand's first turbocharged engine in North America, a 1.5-litre that makes 174 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 2016 Civic coupe is set to go on sale in the spring of 2016.
Five-door hatch, Si and Type R models are still to come as Honda rolls out five new Civic variants over 18 months.
