Genesis G90 shows off Hyundai luxury brand's design style
Hot on the heels of announcing a new standalone luxury brand, Hyundai has unveiled the first in its Genesis lineup, the range-topping G90 sedan.
Renderings of the show a design language that is familiar for the brand, reflecting that of the current Genesis sedan, and even the smaller Sonata that was redesigned for 2015.
"Genesis' new large luxury sedan will deliver a concept of 'new luxury' to our customers," Hyundai vice-chairman Woong-Chul Yang said in a statement from the automaker. "The G90 sits at the pinnacle of the Genesis brand and demonstrates how we apply our human-centred values to give our customer true satisfaction in every aspect of the vehicle ownership experience."
As the brand's flagship model, the Genesis G90 is "a blueprint for change and innovation that will distinguish the Genesis brand," according to Hyundai.
The fullsize sedan offers what Hyundai calls "a raft of world-best safety features and technological innovations," though it didn't outline what those were, and an "athletic elegance" in design.
Hyundai says it will launch six new Genesis models by 2020.
The G90, dubbed the EQ900 in South Korea, is scheduled for launch there early next month.
