Chris Evans Leaves Top Gear
After a short tenure at the helm of the popular British TV Show Top Gear, Chris Evans announced his resignation, effective immediately.
After Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond’s departure, Chris Evans was selected to replace the legendary trio. At the time, he signed a three-year contract.
Sadly, the viewership never really embraced Evans; from the very first episode, people were very vocal about their disdain for the TV star.
After yesterday’s sixth episode, Chris Evans announced via Twitter that he would leave Top Gear. We don’t know yet if he will be replaced or if the remaining five actors that were hired this year will fill the void.
Evans isn’t going away completely, however: he will still work on his other projects, notably his radio show. He also left in good terms, wishing his team the best of luck.
