Max Verstappen, Youngest Formula 1 Winner
Another record was broken in Formula 1: Max Verstappen, who previously became the youngest driver to get a seat in motorsport’s highest division, drove his way to victory during the Spanish Grand Prix, becoming the youngest driver to win an F1 race.
Max achieved this significant milestone at the Catalunya circuit. He was 18 years and 228 days old.
Previously, the record was held by Sebastian Vettel, who was only 22 years-old when he won the Italian Grand Prix in 2008.
This important victory from Verstappen is even more impressive considering the pilot had no experience in his Red Bull car; he was racing in Formula 1 since last year, but for Torro Rosso, a less-competitive team.
During the race, the teenager managed to stay in front of ex-world champion Kimi Raikkonen for more than 30 laps to secure the win.
Having raced for most of his life, Max has a promising career in front of him; we can’t wait to see how he performs now that he has a competitive car.
