Goodwood Festival Of Speed Will Celebrate BMW
BMW will be the guest of honour at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed. This is the perfect opportunity for the German brand to not only celebrate its numerous motorsport victories, but also to mark its 100th birthday in 2016.
Among the numerous historic cars on display, we will see the V12 LMR which won the 24 Hours Of Le Mans in 1999, the 328 SuperLeggera that dominated the Mille Miglia in 1940, the 1983 Formula 1 which was good enough to give Nelson Piquet the Championship that year as well as the S1000 RR, the motorcycle that won the Tourist Trophy of the Isle Of Man.

BMW has a long and glorious history on two and four wheels. They marked history with the 3.0 CLS, winning the 24H Of Nurburgring in 1973. The car was nicknamed The Batmobile thanks to its unique aerodynamics.
And let’s not forget the 1978 BMW M1, the very first car produced by the brand’s performance division. There is also the V12-powered 850CSi producing 375 horsepower.
We can’t go without mentioning the BMW F1.06, the last Formula 1 driven by Jacques Villeneuve in a championship. But we’re pretty sure this car won’t be part of the festival.
The Festival Of Speed starts on June 23 and goes on until June 26. If you can make it, it’s one of the best car event on the calendar.
