A 2017 Jaguar XKSS?
In 1957, Jaguar announced that they would produce 25 XKSS roadsters, a lightly modified version of the D-Type that dominated the 24H of Le Mans during the previous three years (yes, in the fifties, you could buy a proven race car and drive it on the streets). The manufacturer had a fixed number of chassis and bodies to build for regulation purposes, and the last 25 were all earmarked for the United States.
Sadly, only 16 units were built: a fire destroyed the assembly plant where they were built, and Jaguar simply abandoned the XKSS idea.

Today, they will revive the legendary roadster. Jaguar Classic will build the remaining nine XKSS units using the exact specifications from 1957.
These 2017 XKSS cars will cost more than a million pounds, and you'll probably never see one on the streets; if you do however, take the time to check it out: this is an important piece of automotive history.
