Morgan EV3: Bringing the Past Into the Future
Morgan is a small English automaker that stays very close to its roots: its 3-Wheeler uses a design born more than 100 years ago, and their 4/4 roadster is still made out of wood.
This is why Morgan's latest creation surprised us: at the latest Geneva Auto Show, we saw the new EV3, an electric three-wheeler.

The 1,983-cc, 82-horsepower S&S V-Twin that normally sits prominently at the front of the 3 Wheeler is gone, replaced by a 20-kWh battery pack and a 64-horsepower electric motor. Thanks to composite carbon panels - this is actually the first Morgan to use this material, by the way - the EV3 only weighs 500 kilos. This means it can hit 100 km/h from a standstill in less than nine seconds and should climb up to 160 km/h. Finally, the EV3 can go 224 kilometres on a single charge... or 80 if you push the Sport button.
This three-wheeler's look is also very unique: since the gasoline engine doesn't jut out of the front cowl, the designers pretty much had some creative liberty. The small vehicle is fully clad, and an asymmetrical fog light fills the empty hole.
The Morgan EV3 should be sold in North America for around USD$60,000.
