2017 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback: Coming This Fall
We were waiting for it for quite a while now, and it’s finally been unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show.
The Cruze has been completely redesigned for 2016. It was only normal that Chevrolet chose the new platform to create a more family-oriented version. The latter rides on the same 2,700-mm wheelbase as the sedan. The cargo area has a volume of 524 litres when the rear seatbacks are up, and up to 1,336 litres when they’re folded down.
While the sedan is offered in L, LS, LT and Premier trim levels, the Cruze Hatchback will only be available in the LT and Premier variants. An RS appearance package, which includes sporty cosmetic add-ons, will be offered on the sedan and the hatchback. Under the hood, the only engine on duty is a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder that develops 153 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque.
The Cruze Hatch will rival the Ford Focus, the Kia Forte5 and the Hyundai Elantra GT. It will be on sale in the fall of 2016.
