A Teaser Of The Next Mercedes-Benz SL
While the Mercedes-Benz SL is a very competent GT, its shape is starting to get old. Since the rest of Mercedes-Benz’s lineup has been modernized, it is now time for this two-door to get some attention.
The German automaker is intent on unveiling the updated SL at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The convertible will feature an updated front end that is somewhat reminiscent of the AMG GT. In the teaser shot shown above, we can see a pair of updated LED headlights and a new grille and front bumper. We can’t see the side profile, but we suspect that there has been little to no change; this is a facelift afterall, and not a full-on evolution.

On the inside, we can expect more of the same. While the dashboard will probably be similar to last year, the SL should feature the tablet-looking infotainment system that Mercedes-Benz seems to enjoy.
Engine-wise, we expect that the twin-turbo 4.7-litre V8 will be back, as well as the SL 63 AMG and its 5.5-litre V8. We also can’t wait to see if the SL 65 AMG and its V12 will make a comeback.
