Consumer Reports No Longer Recommends The Tesla Model S
Tesla’s Model S recently became Consumer Report’s new love. The electric sedan was so good it pretty much broke their point system, earning the unheard-of score of 103 out of 100! It also managed to beat the magazine's 0-60 mph record with its time of 3.5 seconds.
So, for a time, the Model S was THE car to get, according to Consumer Reports.

Now however, it seems that they have changed their minds; the Tesla will not receive the Recommended mention.
Why?
Consumer Reports sent a survey to 1,400 Model S owners asking about the reliability of their car… and the results were not pretty. In the last 3 years, people have had problems with retractable door handles that refused to deploy, leaky sunroofs, tactile screens that would freeze and even massive drivetrain issues that were so bad the electric motors had to be changed.
This is problematic enough for Consumer Report to class the Model S in the Not Recommended section.
It’s important to note that despite the number of problems they had with their cars, 97% of current owners would get another Model S.
