Aston Debuts Prettiest Car Ever
Aston Martin does not have the sporting pedigree of Porsche. They lack the flamboyance of Lamborghini. And without the panache of Ferrari, one could call into question the English marque’s position alongside these manufacturers as one of the world’s most esteemed sports cars.
That is, one could, if one were blind. Where the latest works of Lamborghini’s designers sport arrogant flat surfaces and flashy colours, Aston’s rely on familiar sports car dimensions. Ferrari has adopted a new, younger styling that some have called boyish, with too many contrived design accessories while Aston has stayed true to their design lineage. And Porsche? While, they’ve stayed too true to their design lineage.
But no one has had a single criticism of Aston’s cars, ever. Continually producing the most gorgeous automobiles on the road, their latest James Bond-inspired work, the DBS, has been heaped with praise as one of the emotive cars on the road. Falling behind its competitors in nearly every quantitative way, it’s qualitative experience is unparalleled. The only way to improve? Whack the roof off.
Which is precisely what Aston’s done with the DBS Volante. Equipped with the exact same running gear, it’s not expected to differ from the fixed roof model in any way excepting the superior access to the aural bliss that is Aston’s 6.0L V12. Expect more details to follow next week from the Geneva motor show.
