Every year, the team at the Car Guide publishes their rankings of the best vehicles in the industry. For 2016, the Car Guide’s Best Buys shines the spotlight on the top three vehicles in 26 different categories. We also crown the best design of the year and the best new cars and SUVs.
Before a car can rank among our Best Buys, it’s pitted against the other vehicles in its category and assessed on objective and subjective criteria, including fuel economy, reliability, safety, infotainment and ride. Our editors reach a consensus on the overall experience and each vehicle is given an overall score that’s published on our website and in our French-language bestseller, Le Guide de l’auto. The top three vehicles make it to the podium and a prize is awarded to each category leader.
