Changes Across The 2016 Infiniti Product Line-up
Japanese luxury brand Infiniti has just announced some updates for their 2016 model range, the most significant being the addition of a new engine in the compact Q50 sedan.
Actually, we already knew a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine would eventually equip the Q50, after Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz announced a strategic platform and powertrain partnership back in 2012. In short, Nissan builds Benz turbo fours in Tennessee, which are also dropped into the C-Class sedan. No details have been disclosed yet, but the two-litre mill produces 241 horsepower in the C-Class. The 2016 Infiniti Q50 with its new engine should be on sale this coming winter.
The Q60 Coupe and Q60 Convertible will both be taking a break for the 2016 model year. The redesigned 2017 Q60 will draw heavily on the Infiniti Q60 Concept unveiled earlier this year, and will be on sale during the summer of 2016.
The 2016 Infiniti QX50, which was unveiled at the New York Auto Show, features a stretched wheelbase for more rear-seat room and cargo space. It will be on sale in September.
The midsize 2016 Infiniti Q70 sedan and the full-size 2016 Infiniti QX80 SUV get some additional trim packages, and the 2016 Infiniti QX70 crossover will be identical to the 2015 model. As for the midsize 2016 Infiniti QX60 crossover, its on-sale date will be pushed back to the spring of 2016; its details will be announced at the Detroit Auto Show next January.
Finally, the compact-sized 2017 Infiniti Q30 and Infiniti QX30 will arrive in the spring of 2016.
