2016 Jaguar XJ Sharpens Its Claws
The Jaguar XJ has been sold without many changes since it arrived in 2009, and in order to stay relevant in its segment against some ferocious rivals it was due for some improvements.
The 2016 model solves this issue.
Visual upgrades are not exactly ground-breaking: the grille is different, there is chrome in the air intakes, the headlights' patterns were modified and the taillights now feature J-shaped LEDs.
Jaguar also added a new, top-of-the-line model: the Autobiography will now sit atop the XJ range. Only available with a long wheelbase, it adds 20-inch wheels and a leather-bound cockpit (including the seats, the roof and the door panels). Rear passengers are treated to two individual seats with massage functions and foldable 10.2-inch screens.
An R-Sport version is also available, including aggressive bumpers, a blackened grille and sport seats; you can also choose to spruce up the interior with carbon fibre accents.
Finally, all 2016 XJs will receive electrically-assisted power steering.
