Ford Will Offer Its Electric Technologies… For The Right Price
Last year, Tesla announced that they would offer all their technologies and patents to anyone who needed them, free of charge. Stating that they wanted to help the advance of the electric vehicle, Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla Motors) asked the other manufacturers to do the same.
Ford just announced that they will do just that; the Dearborn manufacturer will offer more than 600 patents (and over 1,000 pending patents) for their electric and hybrid vehicles, and will share them with you if you want them.

However, while Tesla gave away its tech, Ford will actually charge you for it.
Exact pricing hasn’t been announced, but a representative from Ford said that prices would vary between a few hundred and a few thousand dollars, depending on the magnitude of said tech.
The manufacturer also showed a renewed interest in electric vehicles, stating that they would hire around 200 engineers specialized in electric vehicles in the coming year.
