2016 Porsche 911 GT3 R: For Your Track Domination Needs
It isn’t a secret anymore: Porsche dominates on the racetrack. Whenever there is a 911 on a track, you can be assured that it’s in it to win it.
Porsche’s most recent models will probably reinforce this stereotype; in a recent announcement, the latest iteration of the 911 GT3 R has been launched.

Based on the GT3 RS, this new car doesn’t have to be road-legal, so it doesn’t have any sound deadening, no catalytic converters and absolutely no creature comforts whatsoever. Its engine has been bored out to 4 litres, and the flat-six mill now generates more than 500 horsepower. To send all this power to the rear wheels is a six-speed sequential gearbox.
This GT3 R is 8.3 centimetres longer than the model it replaces, which will give it increased stability. For added lightness, the body panels are made of carbon fibre while the structure is an aluminium composite. Finally, the centre of gravity was lowered by getting rid of the side radiators and replacing them with a front-mounted unit.
So if you absolutely need to win at whatever circuit you are going to, Porsche will sell you a 911 GT3 R (without any crew members) for $485,000 USD.
